We acknowledge the Wurundjeri people as the traditional Custodians of Wyenondabul, the place we now know as the Bend of Islands. We pay respect to the past and present elders of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people, together with the elders of the 4 neighbouring groups of the Kulin Nation.

As the first conservationists, the Wurundjeri people have always had an intimate connection to this landscape, the seasonal markers and have always understood that their actions affected the world around them.

They were the first peoples, and we honour their ongoing connection to this Country along the Birrarung.
